If the theory of evolution has been proven, why is it still called "theory"? Evolutionary atheists, how will you explain this?

The term "theory" in science doesn't mean the same thing as in everyday language. In scientific terms,  a theory is a comprehensive explanation for a set of  verified facts and observations. The "theory of evolution,"like the "therory of gravity" or "the theory of relativity,"has been tested and supported by a substantial body of evidence from fields like genentics, paleontologogy, and biology.

A scientific theory isn't a "guess" or "hypothesis"; it's an explanation that has been rigorously tested and refined over time. Evolution is called a theory because it explains a vast amount of observed evidence about the diversity of life. New data may refine it, but the core concept___organisms changing over generations through processes like natural selection and genetic drift__is very well-supported. The scientific community considers evolution  as both a fact (organisms have changes over time) and a theory(the framework explaining how those changes happen).
